TDP rallies against corrupt rule

The Telugu Desam Party organised candle light rallies all over the State signifying the ‘dark and corrupt Congress rule marked with several scandals’.

Leaders and activists of the party participated in the rallies. TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu led the partymen at a rally at Bhimraobada, abutting the Congress headquarters Gandhi Bhavan, where the houses of the residents were demolished a few days ago.

Tension prevailed in the area for some time as Mr. Naidu, accompanied by the displaced residents, tried to enter the premises by breaking the police cordon.

Traffic on the busy thoroughfare went haywire as he and the residents squatted on the road.

The protestors raised slogans against Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Government saying it was working in the interests of the rich at the expense of the poor.

TDP leaders also staged protests near the residence of the Dr. Reddy’s brother and Member of Parliament Y.S. Viveknanda Reddy “constructed illegally on the lands belonging to Gurukul Trust” and at a plot onwed by his brother-in-law, Ravindranth Reddy at Madhapur, as well as the Lumbini Park in the heart of the city.
‘Professional’ campaign

Meanwhile, the TDP is gearing up to deploy professionals in all the districts to campaign for the party in the next elections. Telugu Sanketika Nipunula Vibhagam, the first of its kind professional wing constituted by the TDP, announced that the members of the wing were “saving their casual and other leaves for participating full time as and when the party launches its full-fledged campaign”.

TSNV president P. Srikant Reddy said over 6,000 professionals, a majority of them from the Information Technology field joined the wing so far, and the number would cross 10,000 shortly.
